Tenders have been called for the Department of Transport’s (DoT) plans to extend water, gas, electricity, sewer and communication services at Albany Waterfront Marina to accommodate further development of the site.
Harbour manager, DoT, plans to extend the vital services to a 1,734 square metre site on the marina’s western breakwater at Albany Waterfront Marina, allowing further development of the facility by the private sector.
The site, bordered by Toll Place, is zoned to cater for retail and restaurant/café type development.
Expressions of interest have been called for the development of the site and negotiations are continuing with a preferred proponent.
The $400,000 project, funded by the State Government’s $5.5 billion Western Australian Recovery Plan, is scheduled for completion later this year and also included a lighting upgrade at Toll Place last year.

“The marina is already an important part of the local community and is increasingly popular as a destination as Western Australians take up the challenge to Wander Out Yonder.
“With the further development and growth of the facility, it will be an even bigger drawcard for both locals and visitors to the region.”
