From 16-17 June 2021, the Victorian Transport Infrastructure Conference will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre featuring two full days of keynote presentations, panel discussions and valuable networking sessions with hundreds of peers and industry experts.

With $80 billion dedicated to transport infrastructure by the Victorian Government, the sector is set to function as a major piece of the state’s COVID recovery puzzle. Boosting employment and bolstering confidence in the industry, this massive investment is set to revitalise the transport system and improve the way Victorians move. Covering everything from rail projects to port expansions and roads, the Victorian Transport Infrastructure Conference is a must-attend for those seeking industry insights and new opportunities within the infrastructure space.

The conference brings together key stakeholders and professionals from both private and public sectors, providing a rare opportunity to mix with a wide range of players involved in the delivery of major infrastructure projects.

Opening the conference, Tim Pallas, Treasurer, Minister for Economic Relations and Minister for Industrial Relations, will speak broadly on the Victorian project pipeline and the initiatives that are driving our post-COVID recovery. This will be followed by Dr Jonathan Spear, Deputy CEO of Infrastructure Victoria, as he discusses the complex idea of network pricing and the potential solutions to the problem areas in Melbourne’s transport network.

On the regional front, Mark Havryluk, Rail Projects Victoria, will share the details of the $1.75 billion Regional Rail Revival Program and the range of opportunities the initiative has generated.

Following this with a Melbourne perspective, Damian Brizzi, Rail Projects Victoria, will delve into the Metro Tunnel Project and provide insights into the city’s biggest rail project in 50 years.

Caryn Anderson, Port of Melbourne, will discuss the importance of bolstering our port capabilities to support the economy and provide social prosperity for Victorians. To speak on the Sunbury Line Upgrade, Colin Craney, CPB Contractors, will present the latest updates on the $2.1 billion project and give an in-depth overview of the process and benefits.

Rounding out day one, a panel discussion featuring Marion Terrill of Grattan Institute, Professor Majid Sarvi of University of Melbourne, Rachel Dapiran of Victorian Planning Authority, and independent transport planner William McDougall, will explore the complex process of prioritising infrastructure projects based on costs, environmental feasibility, economic value and impact on the community.

Jacinta Allan, Minister for Transport Infrastructure and Minister for the Suburban Rail Loop, will provide a welcome address on day two of the conference and speak on the progress made over the year in the infrastructure space. A panel featuring Jennifer Kaye of the Level Crossing Removal Project, Mandi Davidson of RPS, Megan Cusack of Melbourne Airport Rail Link, Romina Cavallo of RPS, and Trent Woodberry of Major Road Projects Victoria, will discuss the community’s role in the delivery of major projects and the challenges that can arise during engagement.

Ed Walker, ARTC, will provide the latest updates on the highly anticipated North East Rail Line Upgrade as well as the Victorian section of the massive Inland Rail project. An overview of the project timeline and expected benefits will be covered at length, along with the latest news on project delivery.

The Victorian Transport Infrastructure Conference will be held on the 16-17 June 2021 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. For more information, please visit: www.vicinfrastructure.com.au.
