Western Sydney Airport Corporation has released two procurement packages for main earthworks and airside pavements on the airport site.

WSA Co, the government-owned company established to deliver the Western Sydney Airport, has released two separate procurement packages to market for a Delivery Partner and a Project Manager (Definition). These services will provide professional support to the company with project management, planning, design development and construction management, and help WSA Co deliver a world-class Western Sydney Airport on time and on budget.

WSA Co will also go to market in early February for the first stage of the main airport works program, inviting Registrations of Interest for the Bulk Earthworks and Airside Civil Works package, which makes up the largest part of work for the airport development, including moving more than 20 million cubic metres of earth to level the site.

Western Sydney Airport will not only support aviation capacity for the Sydney region but also be a catalyst for economic growth in Western Sydney for decades to come.

Western Sydney Airport is on track to begin operations before the end of 2026 and this announcement is another important milestone towards that deadline.

This follows the announcement that work has begun on a major project to underground a high-voltage power line that currently crosses the site, and the last existing building on the site has been demolished in preparation for construction of the airport to commence.

Early stage earthworks will begin before the end of 2018, ahead of the Bulk Earthworks.
