Western Sydney Airport to support population growth

Supporting the sustainable growth of a nation, the Greater Sydney Region Plan, A Metropolis of Three Cities, aims to combat the hurdles and accommodate the current and future needs of a bustling region. The three-city vision proposes the notion of access to housing, employment, education, health and culture within a 30-minute radius.

Building a stable foundation for NSW’s future $1.3 trillion economy is not something that has been taken lightly by Infrastructure NSW. Over the coming years, New South Wales will also be injecting upwards of $14 billion into state transport infrastructure in order to properly accommodate development.

Sydney Motorway Corporation’s WestConnex will form a portion of Sydney’s integrated transport plan, easing congestion in the city whilst opening up new job avenues and creating a connected community.

With the project approaching halfway point in 2019, Sydneysiders can expect the road project to be delivered by 2024, with the M5 leading towards the site of the future Western Sydney Airport.

Following decades of discussion and planning, ground has broken at the Badgerys Creek Western Sydney Airport site with major construction beginning in 2019 and an expected completion period of late 2026. Providing thousands of residents with increased transport and job opportunities the airport is slated to be the main feature of NSW’s Western Parkland City.

At the 10th Annual NSW Major Projects Conference, Graham Millett, Chief Executive Officer of WSA Co, will explore the airports position as a pillar of Western Sydney’s growth area, discussing the commercial, residential and cultural opportunities it will bring to the state.

CEO of Infrastructure NSW, Jim Betts, and CEO of Sydney Motorway Corporation, Dennis Cliché, will join Millett on the 21st and 22nd of November at the Sydney International Convention Centre at the 10th Annual NSW Major Projects Conference 2018.
