As Australia’s construction sector continues to become ‘smarter’ and implement digital technologies such as BIM and 3D modelling to save money and create efficiencies, it’s critical that infrastructure professionals keep up with the rapid rate of change.

The COVID-19 pandemic has seen the industry further embrace digital technologies, and with infrastructure a major player in the post-COVID economic recovery, focus is now turning to how companies can better use 3D design and digital simulation to improve and accelerate projects.

Dassault Systèmes, a global leader in 3D design and engineering software, is hosting a series of three Smart Construction Rendez-vous webinars throughout November to show businesses how they can best prepare and plan for a digital future.

Hosted by Melle Whiting, Head of Infrastructure at Dassault Systèmes Australia, the Smart Construction Rendez-vous will run on Thursday 12, 19 and 27 November from 2:00pm – 2:45pm (AEST).

Accelerate design and replicate projects

Session 1 on Thursday 12 November will explore how companies can capture and capitalise on their current engineering know-how to accelerate design, replicate projects and create a distinct edge on the competition.

The session will be run by Joo Chuan Lee, DS Solution Architect Senior Specialist, who will show attendees how to implement a template-based automated approach using 3D design templates to optimise methods based on different scenarios, using engineering simulation.

Increasing construction predictability and long-term value

Session 2 will run on Thursday 19 November and look at how companies can accelerate projects with collaborative design and simulation to increase construction predictability, long-term value for project owners, and profitability for architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) project contributors.

Presented by Prashanth Mysore, DS Global Strategic Business Development Director, this session will explore project construction optimisation, project visualisation, smart construction, big data, IoT, Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA), modular construction, and automation in the new normal.

How to digitise your company and fast-track projects

Session 3 on Friday 27 November is the final webinar in the series and will detail how companies can fast-track their projects to achieve the Australian Government’s target to priority projects that have been brought forward.

Building Lifecycle Management (BLM) Digital 3D Solutions Manager, and Former SNC Lavalin’s Digital Engineering Manager, Vince Gattola, will discuss how the Canadian EPC company implemented its digital transformation to better collaborate and improve efficiency from design to construction.

His presentation Adopting 3DEXPERIENCE in the AEC Industry for Rail and Transit in SNC-Lavalin, Major Projects will help delegates implement digitisation in their own organisations.

As technology continues to evolve, it’s integral to keep up to date with the latest technology. This partner content is brought to you by Dassault Systèmes.
