The New South Wales and Federal Government have announced an investment of $6 million toward planning for the future Werrington Arterial Stage 2 project, connecting the Great Western Highway with Werrington and Marsden Park.

The $3 million funding is for a Strategic Business Case for the Werrington Arterial Stage 2.

It will provide the strategic design, economic assessment and early cost estimation to inform an investment decision on a Final Business Case.

The Federal Government has made a matching contribution towards the Strategic Business Case.

Since it was opened in 2017 Werrington Arterial Stage 1 has proven to be a valuable connection between the Great Western Highway and M4, creating better access to the M4 motorway and more reliable travel times for motorists.

Stage 2 would deliver a connection between the employment areas at St Marys and Marsden Park with the North West Growth Area, making it easier for people to get to and from work.
